Airline delays

Traveling for work today. I am sitting on the tarmac waiting for the FAA to give us the go-ahead to take off. Seems there are some wild fires outside of Phoenix airport that are hampering visibility. Nothing that can be controlled by humans, but it seems to me that if the airline I am on had been able to TAKE OFF ON TIME, this delay would not have happened.
Perhps if they were able to actually plan their schedules correctly they could also have their planes taking off in an orderly fashion and landing the same way. Some day the way that they let people on the planes will make sense too. I sort of understand the “zone” assigments. But if you are going to assign people to a zone, you should have the zones correspond to areas of the plane. if I am in seat 35F and zone 5, everyone else around seat 35F should also be in zone five. Board the plane from back to front and have everyone go all the way to their area with less hassle and slowdown than the haphazard way that planes are boarded now.
No common sense in this industry. Nothing can save them if they don’t want to change...
