Ben and Jerry's and more!

Ben and Jerry’s factory sign

The tour was fun, the colors throughout the state of Vermont were still amazing.

Today we woke late (I woke late) and took off for the Ben and Jerry’s factory. We drove down, as quickly as we could, but made a stop first at the Cabot Cheese Annex. They had a candy store, a cheese shop, a camera shop, and a few other shops in the annex. We shopped and tasted and had a great time. They had some amazing old cameras in the camera shop, but I was good and bought nothing.

After shopping and chocolating and cheesing our hearts out, we went to Ben and Jerry’s. We entered the shop and bought tickets for the tour. The tour left every 10 minutes and consisted of a 10 minute movie, a tour of the manufacturing floor (From above) and a taste of the daily flavor. The flavor of the day was Mint chocolate chip. It was excellent. After the tour we walked around the grounds for a bit and discovered the “Flavor Graveyard.” They had created headstones for the flavors that they had retired. Some sounded good, others... Not so much.

After Ben and Jerry’s we were off to the Vermont Country Store. We shopped some more, saw some neat old toys, some nice clothes, and had a great time, as always.

Finally we drove off to our hotel in Williamstown, Massachusetts. We drove through tons of rain, but it was gorgeous.

Tomorrow we are off to Rhode Island!

More to come!

PS, while typing we just got a HUGE burst of thunder! YAY!
